  This is what happened to me. I married the pastors daughter and gave up a career with a excellent hospital in Houston to do so. I unfortunately got laid off after 30 days. Well, I went to church religiously and never found work to commensurate with my skillset and education. Since I marred the Pastors daughter we were "buying the house" only to find out later when things weren't going so good with the daughter that we were "renting". He posted an eviction notice for all of us while his daughter and my son-in-law went to live with him. This was a lie since I was told we were buying and had been given amounts due, for land taxes, and insurance too. I also made several improvements to the property by upgrading water heater, finishing a laundry room, new fence, repairing damage by storm to the outside shed, etc. I was unemployed for some time which was a very bad time for me since I have worked since I was 11 years old. I did try to stay the course but wasn't strong and faltered. I was treated like a low class citizen with disregard for our welfare. When I tried to explain that my wife his daughter was spending all the money and I needed his help all he could say was "you married her". I expected more from my pastor than that after paying 6000.00 dollars in tithes in six months.
  
  I do have to say this positive the people of the church are outstanding! I question the leadership in all honesty!!
